about
Jess Ford

Jess Ford, LMFT, PMH-C

Jess approaches therapy through a psychoanalytic, culturally conscious, and trauma-informed lens that centers social justice, advocacy, and the inherent wisdom of each client. She believes healing happens within authentic relationships and strives to create a collaborative, affirming, and empowering therapeutic space grounded in empathy, curiosity, active listening, and inclusivity. Her work is guided by the belief that clients are the experts of their own lives, and that therapy should honor each person's unique identities, lived experiences, and cultural context.

Before beginning her clinical training, Jess spent eight years as a full-spectrum doula, supporting individuals and families through a wide range of reproductive experiences. She provided educational, emotional, physical, and advocacy-based support throughout fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, perinatal loss, and abortion, with specialized training in perinatal mental health. This work shaped her deep commitment to client autonomy, informed decision-making, and compassionate, person-centered care.

Although Jess remains deeply passionate about perinatal mental health and reproductive justice, her clinical work focuses on diverse mental health concerns as she continues her journey as a psychotherapist.

Jess is currently based on Tongva Land in Los Angeles, California.
